TOP FINNISH QUARTET TURN TO CLUB CAR

(Dublin, Ireland – March 14, 2023) A quartet of Finland’s best golf venues have recently purchased new fleets from Club Car, a global leader in small-wheel electric vehicles, to meet increasing demand.

Ålands Golf ClubKytäjä Golf, Linna Golf and Tahko Golf have all renewed or added to their fleet through Golden Pro, Club Car’s Finnish distributor for the last 35 years.

All four venues rank in the top 10 golf courses in Finland, and have chosen Club Car’s industry-leading Tempo model, designed to elevate the golf experience with its premium comfort, superior handling and handy in-car accessories.

Kytäjä Golf, a 36-hole resort near the Finnish capital Helsinki, was the first in the country to switch to electric carts in 2003, which proved a catalyst for others to follow suit. It now has 75 Tempos, and CEO Jukka Koivu, said: “Our goal is to be one of the leading golf resorts in Northern Europe by 2025.

“In order to get there, we will always choose the absolute best partners and that’s why we have chosen Club Car as our partner. In my opinion Club Car is the Ferrari of golf cars and Golden Pro has always been a reliable and helpful partner.”

Björn Wennström, Club Director at Ålands, a 36-hole venue located on the Åland islands in the middle of the Baltic Sea and host of the Finnish Ladies Open on the Ladies European Tour, said: “We have around 17,500 member rounds and about the same number of visitor rounds, and we have noticed that demand for our Club Car fleet is growing every year.

“Introducing GPS technology to the new cars has really elevated the experience for our golfers. They receive accurate distances on the screens for every shot and other relevant information that helps them get more from their round.”

Demand has also risen at Tahko Golf, which has two 18-hole courses and 40 Tempos.

“The use of golf cars has risen a lot in Finland in the last years, among all age categories,” said Managing Director Jukka Ilva. “Our customers are very happy with the new Premium seats, bag cover and Visage GPS system.

“The cars are reliable and look great, so they are very popular and are an excellent source of revenue for us.”

Esa Honkalehto, CEO of Linna Golf, which has 18 Tempos, added: “We have regular servicing which keeps the fleet in good shape, and the customer experience and feedback is always very positive. We are very satisfied with the long-term relationship we have with Club Car and Golden Pro.”

Club Car’s Andy Bourke, Club Car’s Regional Sales Manager UK, Ireland & Scandinavia, said: “These deals have come about because of two things: the strength of our product and Golden Pro, which is a very strong distributor with excellent customer service.

“Finland has a fairly short season because of the weather, so the cars will get a lot of use for five or six months, then they are stored all winter in minus temperatures under snow. So it’s crucial that the distributor advises well on winter servicing and maintenance to make sure the batteries are looked after.”

Club Car supplies many of the world’s leading golf destinations with its wide range of vehicles, and is a Worldwide Supplier to The 2023 Ryder Cup. It is also an official supplier to the DP World Tour, the Professional Golfers’ Association (PGA) and St Andrews Links Trust.
